Knowledge Beyond Marks

“True success lies in the knowledge you gain, not just the marks you score.”

In the recently declared JKBOSE Class 10 results, Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute proudly celebrates its topper, Ms. Shahzadi Ayzal, whose dedication and consistency have brought honour to the institution. Her journey reflects not only academic excellence but also the values of perseverance, faith, and family support.

This conversation was conducted by Ms. Shabana Aziz, Lecturer in English and Head of Humanities at Kashmir Harvard, who brings her editorial warmth and clarity to highlight Ayzal’s inspiring story. Together, they explore the mindset, strategies, and deeper meaning of success that go beyond marks and ranks.

Ms. Shabana: When you look back at your Class 10 journey, what kept you going on tough days and made you believe you could reach the top?

Ms. Ayzal: I always dreamed of becoming a doctor. That hope kept me motivated, and my parents constantly encouraged me. I left the rest to Allah, because I believe He never lets hard work go to waste.

Ms. Shabana: Everyone has their own way of studying — what was your routine like, and how did you make sure it worked for you?

Ms. Ayzal: My routine was simple but consistent. After school, I would dedicate around five hours to self-study every day. That steady rhythm helped me stay focused.

Ms. Shabana: Were there any subjects that gave you a hard time, and how did you find your way through them?

Ms. Ayzal: Social Sciences was the toughest for me. I spent extra time on it, revising again and again until I felt confident. Consistency really made the difference.

Ms. Shabana: Success never happens alone — who stood by you the most and gave you the push you needed?

Ms. Ayzal: My mother and my teachers were my strongest support. Their encouragement gave me strength whenever I felt low.

Ms. Shabana: If you were sitting with your juniors right now, what’s the one piece of advice you’d share to help them shine?

Ms. Ayzal: I’d tell them to stay away from too much screen time and instead make a habit of reading early in the morning. It really helps with focus and retention.

Ms. Shabana: And finally, beyond the marks and the rank, what does success mean to you personally, and how do you see it shaping your future?

Ms. Ayzal: For me, the true meaning of success is not marks but the knowledge you gain. That’s what stays with you and shapes your future.

Shahzadi Ayzal’s journey shows that consistent effort, faith, and support lead to true success — measured not just in marks, but in knowledge gained.
